NORTH OGDEN ? Lola Emma Atkinson Campbell, 82, died peacefully October 1, 2005 at the Emeritus Estates. She was born December 28, 1922 to Selma Josephine Christensen and Heber Delbert Atkinson in Clarkston, Cache County, Utah. She graduated from North Cache High School and LDS Seminary. She attended Henagar?s Business College in Ogden. During World War II she worked at the Defense Depot in Ogden. She worked at the Internal Revenue Service, retiring after 35 years. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi sorority in Brigham City. She was a story teller at the Brigham City Library and worked as a pink lady at the Bear River Valley Hospital in Tremonton.
She married Harmon Jay Campbell June 3, 1943 in the Logan LDS Temple. They reared six children. She was a resident of Corinne and Brigham City most of her married life. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including ward Relief Society president and a ward and stake Primary president. She loved to serve others and was a faithful visiting teacher. She also taught in Young Womens and served for many years as junior Sunday School coordinator. She and Harmon served in the California Ventura Mission in 1986-87. She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters Violet Hauser Hardy, Grant Atkinson; Joseph Atkinson; and Hazel Atkinson Nelson Rose; and a son-in-law, Kirby Giles. She is survived by her husband of North Ogden and children Jeneil Jay Hardy of Elwood; Rodney Julia of Hurricane; Geraldine Dennis Child of Logan; Rita Giles Bill Tanner of Fillmore; Jeffrey Kathy of Orem; Joel Jolene of Lindon; 25 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Tremonton LDS South Stake Center, 1150 South Tremont Street. A viewing will be held prior to the services beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow services at Elwood City Cemetery. Special thanks to Ophelia Chavez, her dedicated care giver, and care givers at Hospice Alliance. The family also extends thanks to Dr. Darin Checketts and the staff and friends at Emeritus Estates.
