Lois Reynolds Hale passed away March 6, 2010, surrounded by family, at Sunshine Terrace, in Logan, from causes incident to age. She was 95 years old and had enjoyed relatively good health until September 2009. The world may have lost a mom, sister, grandmother, aunt or friend, but she is now with her eternal companion hoping to greet the rest of us when that time comes. She was born December 23, 1914 to Joseph William and Theresa Christiansen Reynolds in Hyrum, Utah. She was the second of eleven children with six sisters and four brothers. Her family moved to Wellsville, Utah when she was eight. She graduated from South Cache High School and was accepted into nurses training at Budge Hospital in Logan. She graduated as a registered nurse in 1936 and worked in Preston, Idaho and at the McKay Dee hospital in Ogden until her marriage. She married J. LaThare Hale on July 1, 1938 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They then moved to a fifty acre dairy farm at Groveland, Idaho, near Blackfoot. In 1955 they sold the farm and moved into Blackfoot where they lived until moving to Logan in 1989. LaThare passed away April 23, 1998. Lois worked, as a nurse, at the Blackfoot Medical Clinic from 1958 until her retirement in 1976. She was also a Red Cross nurse and enjoyed teaching "Red Cross Home Care of the Sick" courses to women in Bingham County, Idaho. Lois and LaThare were avid travelers. They enjoyed traveling to Germany and Egypt to visit their children who lived abroad as well as trips to the South Pacific, England and Scandinavia. Lois and LaThare have four children: Robert Tana Sargent; Frances Robinsondeceased of Logan, Utah; Nancy Hyrum Hall of Moscow, Russia; Ronald Linda Bushman of Lacey, Washington and Brent Linda Thueson of Orangevale, California. Her greatest joy has been her children and grandchildren and their faithfulness and personal success. She has 23 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and 4 great, great-grandchildren. Her siblings are Tom Reynolds deceased, Emma Harris, Rae Sorenson deceased, Rea Sorenson, Edna Jensen, Edward Reynolds deceased, Helen Allen deceased, Joe Reynolds, Joyce Miller deceased, and Carl Reynolds. Lois loved to read and one of the hardest trials in her last months was not being able to see well enough to read and most recently not being able to operate her Books-on-Tape machine or television. She did not like to sit idle. She has been actively involved in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her service included all the auxiliaries of the church. She and her husband served as officiators in the Idaho Falls, Chicago and Logan Temples. Their service in Chicago was as Temple Missionaries. Her example of selfless service, dedication to family and testimony of the restored gospel are an inspiration to her family. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 13th at the Foothill 2nd Ward chapel, 1450 East 1500 North, Logan, Utah with interment in the Groveland, Idaho cemetery at 3:00pm. Friends and family may call from 6 to 8 pm on Friday at Nelson's Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah and from 10:00 to 10:45 at the chapel, on the day of the funeral.
