Lilly Dale DeMille returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Parents, and loved ones that had gone on before her, in the early hours of April 5, 2003, surrounded by the love of her family. Dale, as she preferred to be called, passed away quietly after a courageous battle with failing health. Dale was born December 9, 1918 in Logan, Utah the 7th of 8 children born to Job A. and Mary Jane Mathews Larsen. She grew up and attended schools in Logan. She married Willard Heaps on September 23, 1936, and they were later divorced. She married Wendell Clark DeMille on April 19, 1954 in the Logan LDS Temple, and they would have celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary this month. Dale lived in Logan all of her life until she retired, and then she and her husband spent the winters in Washington, Utah. Dale retired after 20 years service at the State Tax Commission. She was very active in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in the Primary, Sunday school, Young Women?s and Relief Society. She worked diligently for years at the Logan Temple doing initiatory work for the dead, and as a temple worker. She and her husband served a mission in 1982 in the Wisconsin Mission, working with part-members and inactive families. She is survived by her husband, a daughter, JoAnn Marv Perkes, Hyde Park; a son, Terry Kathy Heaps, Duchesne; 17 grandchildren, 55 great-grandchildren, and 9 great-great grandchildren with 3 more due in June. Also survived by a sister, Blanche Andrus, Tremonton and a brother, Reed Norma Larsen of Holiday. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bruce Willard Heaps, a daughter, Jackie Lynn Chadwick, sisters: Thelma Corbridge and Verda Johnson, and brothers, LeMar Larsen, Daryl Larsen and Glenn Larsen, two great grandchildren, Justin Gary Perkes and Whitney Ann Fletcher and a great-great grandson, Konnor C. Hugie. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. in the 15th Ward Chapel, 125 West 600 North, Logan with Bishop Don H. Rawlinson conducting. Friends may call at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan on Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Logan City Cemetery.
