Portage. Leslie Monroe Wright died 11 September 2003 at the Sunshine Terrace Nursing Home in Logan, Utah. He was 78. He was born in Wray, Colorado on 31 August 1925. A son of George Daniel Wright and Bettie Lauretta Spivey. He married LaWanna Hall in Layton, Utah on 20 May 1949. The marriage was later solemnized in the Mesa, Arizona Temple. Drafted in 1943, he served his country until 1946. At that time he was honorably discharged. He then attended Weber State College and became a machinist, which was his lifelong occupation. He was a loving father to Randy Leslie Sheri Wright, Amalga, Lynn Stuart Janice Wright, Logan, Lynda Susan Kenneth Muhlestien, Pleasentview, and Blaine Kern Tami Wright, Smithfield. He had 21 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren. Les loved to remodel houses and tore down seven homes, one of which was a two story brick home in Paris, Idaho. With these parts and pieces, he remodeled the home in Portage, Utah. He paved the driveway and floors of two garages with the brick and some of the walls of the portage home. He enjoyed chickens, elephants and Cindy, his dog companion of 12 years. He was a High Priest in the Portage Ward. There will be a viewing at the Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 North 100 East in Tremonton, Utah from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, 14 September 2003. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. in the Portage Chapel on Monday, 15 September 2003, preceded by a viewing 10:00-11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the Portage Cemetery.
