Leeward D. Tarbet, age 87, passed away September 20, 2007 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Lee was born November 22, 1919 in Logan, Utah to Kumen and Maude Tarbet. In1938 he married Mabel May, later divorced. He married M. Arlene Richard in 1942 in Malad, Idaho and in 1963 they were married for time and all eternity in the Cardston Alberta Canada Temple. Lee and Arlene?s marriage was a 57-year adventure until her death in 1999. Lee served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Theater. Throughout the next sixty years he was a truck driver, farmer, concrete contractor, and mechanic, but most of all he was a father, grandfather, uncle, and friend. Lee and Arlene?s greatest joy was their children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and all their other ?adopted? children. They loved and supported all those who needed help. They were active members of the LDS Church, and lived the most basic teachings of the Church: honesty, integrity, compassion, charity, and love. Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene, sisters, and brothers. He is survived by his children: Lee Shirley, Gary Vivian, and Valda, 9 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and friends. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 28th at 2:00 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery located at 17111 South Camp Williams Road in Riverton, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. In lieu of flowers the family would prefer that donations are made to Primary Children?s Hospital Foundation.
