Lee J. Wood

October 21, 1938 — June 28, 2007

Tremonton/St. George, UT - Lee J. Wood, 68, died June 28, 2007, from injuries sustained in an auto accident in the mountains north of Stanley, Idaho. He was born October 21, 1938, in Garland, Utah, the son of LeGrande Willard and Mamie Elizabeth Wise Wood. As a boy, he lived in Lehi and then moved to Clearfield, where he graduated from Davis High School. While attending high school he met his dearest friend and sweetheart Nola Schenck. They were married October 12, 1959, in South Weber. They sealed their love for time and all eternity on January 10, 1969, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of five children. The family lived in Clearfield until 1976 and then moved to the Bear River Valley.
Lee J. was always on time for work, was honest, was a true friend, kind and loving to all. The happiest moments of his life were spent in four-wheel drive. He loved fishing, camping, a good card game with friends and looking at every sunset with anyone who would watch with him. He loved taking his family and friends to see all the beautiful sights he had found. Because of his love of every dirt road in Southern Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho, he became known as the wagon master in their Winter Haven home community. He was a High Priest in the Tremonton Seventh Ward and had served faithfully as a ward librarian and home teacher.
Lee J. worked as a warehouse manager for Dunlop and Boise Cascade and retired from Thiokol. After retirement, he and Nola wintered in St. George and spent summers enjoying the beauty of the Tetons and searching for sunrises and sunsets.
He is survived by his wife Nola, his mother Elizabeth, his children Connie Floyd Fuller; J. Lee ?Gus?; Paul Teresa; Pam Mark Thompson; Joel Laura; 17 grandchildren, one great granddaughter; brothers, Lyle Judy; Lamont Christine; sisters, Launee Don-deceased Halverson; Lois Kent Hale; Lucile Larry Krebs.
