Lawrence Andrew Staysa

Lawrence A. Staysa, 65, passed away Thursday, July 19, 2007 at his home in Logan after a vigilant effort to fight cancer. He was surrounded by his family as he left this world to embrace his next adventure. He was born April 17, 1942 in Stockton, California. Larry took an early retirement from law enforcement in California in 1997, when he and his wife, Judy moved to Logan to spend their retirement years actively involved in their grandchildren?s lives. He has served the church as a Ward Mission Leader, in the High Priest Quorum, and has served a mission at the Logan D.I. Larry loved to work in his yard building fountains and ponds. He will be forever remembered for the way he spoiled his wife and teased his grandchildren. Larry is survived by his wife, Judy; sons: Jay & George Bertoni; David & Jason Staysa and daughter, Jodi David Swager; local grandchildren: Anthony Vanessa, Andrew, Jonah Ford and Heather, Jacob, Kaleb, and Brynna Swager; and great grandson, Owen Ford. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel; and children, Janette Ford, Jeff Staysa, and Jessica Dunn Staysa. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 25, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. at the LDS chapel located at 125 West 600 North, Logan, Utah.
