LaVon Koew Haddaway

February 21, 1926 — March 29, 2003

LaVon Koew Haddaway, 77, passed away peacefully at her home on March 29, 2003. She was born February 21, 1926 in Salt Lake City to William Koew and Marie Demik. LaVon grew up in Salt Lake and graduated from South High. She married Warren Paul Haddaway on September 16, 1949. Together, over the next 25 years, they raised their family of three daughters in Kearns. In 1995, she and her husband relocated to Logan. LaVon loved singing and had a beautiful voice. She sang for the Kearns 5th Ward choir and ?Singing Mothers? of the Kearns North Stake. She had been an employee of Salt Lake Hardware and Beehive Clothing where she retired in 1995. The family would like to express extreme gratitude to Georgia Smee. As her caregiver, she gave devoted care and love to LaVon. She is survived by her husband, Warren; three daughters: Sharon Wheatley, West Jordan; Susan Taylor, Naperville, Illinois; and Shelly Conroy, Apple Valley, California and 8 grandchildren. She is also survived by four sisters: Marie, Katherine, LaVerne, and Alida. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, William. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m.on Thursday, April 3, 2003 at Redwood Mortuary and Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, Salt Lake City. Friends and family may call on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and on Thursday morning from 11:30 to 12:30 at Redwood Mortuary prior to services. Interment will be in the Redwood Memorial Cemetery. Condolences may be extended online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
