LaVon Adams Anderson

December 9, 1925 — July 27, 2009

Our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Mother-in-law, Sister, Aunt, Neighbor, and Friend, LaVon Anderson, 83, passed away peacefully at her home Monday, July 27, 2009 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 9, 1925 in Sublett, Cassia County, Idaho, to William Samuel and Eliza Ann Horn Adams. She grew up in Sublett with her 13 brothers and sisters. She graduated from Raft River High School in May of 1943. She married Elmer Anderson, June 19, 1943 in Burley, Idaho. They were sealed in the Logan Temple November 22, 1975. During their life together they lived in Black Pine, Idaho until 1957 when they moved to Snowville, where they lived until their passing. LaVon served in the Curlew Ward Relief Society and Primary. She was a dedicated visiting teacher and Cub Scout leader. She was a good cook and enjoyed picnics and being outdoors. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, which she enjoyed. She worked at the Thomas Cafe in Snowville and at Thiokol until retirement. She is survived by her two sons; Barry William Kathy Anderson of Downey, Idaho, Ron L. Vickie Anderson of Snowville, Utah, 15 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters; Della May Gibbs of Eugene, OR, Myrtle Jane Wright of Ogden, UT, and Faye Merrell of Albuquerque, NM, brother-in-law Harry Klee of Clinton, UT, and a daughter-in-law, Delores Anderson of Annabella, UT. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer, two sons Elmer Ray and a still born son. She was also preceded in death by her parents, seven brothers, and three sisters. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 31, 2009 12:00 noon at Curlew Ward Church, 75 North 100 East, Snowville, Utah. Family and friends may call Thursday, July 30, 2009 from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah and Friday from 10:40?11:40 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Snowville Cemetery.
