Landon Darrell Sorenson, beloved husband, son, brother, grandson and friend returned to his loving Heavenly Father on February 23, 2012 near his home in Spokane Valley, Washington. Landon was born January 24, 1984 in Logan, Utah and was raised in North Logan. He was active in scouting—earning the rank of Eagle Scout. His greatest joy in high school came from playing football and wrestling for the Sky View Bobcats before his graduation in 2002. Landon met his sweetheart Lucy in the MTC as he was preparing to serve in the Baltimore, Maryland mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Although they served in the same mission, their paths did not fully cross again until Landon returned home and began his next mission of looking for his eternal companion. Landon and Lucy were married December 29, 2006 in the Salt Lake City Temple. They lived in Logan where they attended Utah State University. Landon graduated from USU with a Bachelors degree in Exercise Science in 2009 and was enrolled in his last graduate class in Physical Therapy at Eastern Washington University in Spokane Washington at the time of his death.
Landon was a gentle giant---not large in stature but he had a heart of a giant. He was always there, ready and willing to help those around him. He had a way of drawing others to him with his loving, playful and energetic personality. He knew how to work hard and how to play hard. He had a very competitive nature, and wanted to do his best and to be the best. He was dearly loved by people of all ages, from the very youngest, especially his nieces and nephews, to the very oldest that he had an opportunity to associate with. Landon is survived by his loving wife Lucy of Spokane Valley, Washington, parents Maureen and Richard Sorenson of N. Logan, Utah, sisters Jamie of Kaysville, Utah and Leslie Mike Perry and nephews, Kaysen and Taeden of Nibley, Utah, brothers Skyler of Stallion Springs, California, Tyler of Birmingham, Alabama, and Curtis of N. Logan, Utah, grandparents, Darrell and Merlyn Sorenson of Ovid, Idaho and Colleen King of Montpelier, Idaho. He was preceded in death by his brother Adam and his grandfather, Lavere King.
