Tremonton-Lamont Junior Wells passed away peacefully May 16, 2011, at home, attended by his loving and gentle wife, Glenda. He was born February 23, 1930, in Brigham City, UT, to Ezra Lamont and Lillie Annie Rowher Wells. He was raised in Willard and attended Box Elder High School. At the age of 17, Lamont joined the Army, where he served as a supply sergeant in Korea. Upon his honorable release from military duty, he returned to Utah, where he met Ingeborg Waechtler. They were married April 15, 1954, in the Logan LDS Temple and lived in Smithfield while he finished his degree at USU.
Lamont and Inge lived in Roosevelt, UT, where Lamont began a teaching career at Union High. Determined to provide well for his family, Lamont supplemented his income with work at the Hullinger Pepsi Bottling Company, where he became lifelong friends of the Hullinger family. He moved to Tremonton in 1960 and taught at Bear River Jr. High and Bear River High Schools.
After Inge passed away in 1996, Lamont married Glenda Sorge November 2, 2004. They were sealed in the Logan LDS Temple in 2006. We are grateful for the love and care Glenda has given to our father and our family for the past seven years. Lamont had a passion for education and missionary work. He completed his Masters' degree at USU and served a mission with Inge to Pennsylvania Pittsburgh. He and Glenda served as local missionaries supporting and housing many missionaries, both financially and spiritually.
Lamont is survived by Glenda and his 8 children: Richard Denise Wells, Thatcher; Christine Larry Holmes, Willard; Mike Rosemary Wells, Malad; David Alice Wells, Lava Hot Springs; Roger LaDawn Wells, Willard; Douglas Tamara Wells, Tremonton; Sabrina Kent Wayment, Garland and Rodny Gina Wells, Tremonton; 30 grandchildren 37 great grandchildren.
