LaMar Alvin Balls, 51, died Monday, March 21, 2011 in Salt Lake City, Utah after a courageous battle with pneumonia.
LaMar was born March 9, 1960 in Logan to Frank and Arlene Balls. He graduated from Sky View High School and on January 25, 1980 he married Trina Smith. LaMar worked for Utah State University for 26 years.
LaMar is survived by his wife Trina, son Joshua LaMar, brothers Ray Balls, DeWayne Janet Balls, Cordell Mary Balls, sisters, Ramona Oliveto, Diane Steven Easterman, sisters in law, Cindy Joel Teuscher, Suzette Ryan Rock, Sandi Willy Hansen. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin and Ida Balls, Samuel and Jennie McMurdie, parents, Frank and Arlene Balls, brothers, Sheldon Balls and David Balls.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Smithfield City Cemetery. Per LaMar?s request, there will be no public viewing. The family would like to express appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Logan Regional Hospital, McKay Dee Hospital and Promise Hospital. A special thanks to Dr. Michael Stones.
