LaGene H. Griffin Hansen

March 11, 1920 — September 7, 2013

LaGene H. Griffin Hansen Our beautiful, loving mother passed away on Sept. 9, 2013 at Legacy House at the age of 93. She was born March 11, 1920 to Aroet and Olive Kerr Harris. She was the last of 6 children.
Growing up in Richmond, she loved to ride her horse, Ted, and go to silent movies.
After a year at USU she worked as a dental assistant while she waited for Duane to finish college. While engaged to him she lived with her brother, Bill, in Brigham City and worked for him at Peach City Ice Cream.
After their eternal marriage in 1941, they made their home in Newton until Duane's death in 1999. She married Howard Hansen and moved to St. George, where they served an LDS mission together. She then moved back to Cache Valley.
She was best known for making a friend of everyone she met. She always loved planting flowers and working in her yard. She loved her home and made it inviting with her candy drawer and homemade brownies. She is survived by her daughters Annette Robert Saxton, MarGene David Miles of Smithfield and sons Harris Cris and Brad Stella of Newton, 15 grandchildren, and 37 great-grandchildren. A viewing is scheduled on Wed. Sept. 11 from 10:30 to 11:30 at the Newton LDS chapel, 76 S. 100 W. Graveside services will follow at noon at the Newton Cemetery.
