LaDonna Hardman Plowman, 80, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in Logan from a reoccurrence of non-Hodgkin?s lymphoma. LaDonna was born January 21, 1927 to Gwen Dolan and Lucille Bird Hardman in Malad, Idaho, the fourth of five children. Her childhood days were spent living on the family farm in Arbon, Idaho during the summers and at the family home in Mendon, Utah during the school years. She attended elementary school in Mendon and graduated from North Cache High School. She married Gerald Junior Jerry Plowman on June 14, 1944 in the Logan LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Their early years were spent in Logan, Heber City, and Park City, Utah. In 1954 they moved to Longmont, Colorado where they lived until 1988, when they returned to their homeland, Cache Valley, to retire and be with their families. While in Colorado, she founded the Ladies Junior Chamber of Commerce service organization. She was a life long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many positions throughout her life, including Ward Primary President, Branch and Stake Primary President, scouting, and her most favorite, ward chorister for over 25 years. LaDonna was a wonderful homemaker and gardener ? her roses and flower gardens were always beautiful for the loving care that she gave them. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother ? her family always came first. She was a wonderful caregiver to her husband after he lost his eyesight over 19 years ago. They were so supportive of each other and their families, they attended so many activities and were always so proud to see their children and grandchildren perform! LaDonna was a very active little lady ? she enjoyed square dancing for many years both in Colorado and Utah, and made so many lifelong friends dancing. In her youth she excelled in tap dancing and running races. She was proud to say she could outrun all the girls and most of the boys. She always enjoyed line dancing, golf, bowing, playing games, camping and traveling. Mom and Dad enjoyed several trips together to Hawaii, Mexico, cruises to the Caribbean, and travel all over the Untied States. For her 80th birthday celebration this year, they went on a seven night Hawaiian cruise with all their children and spouses ? what a wonderful trip we had together as a family. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Plowman; sons: Kent Terry Plowman of Brighton, Colorado; Randy Virginia Plowman of Bedford, Wyoming; Kevin Shelly Plowman of Greeley, Colorado; and Rick Debra Plowman of Evanston, Wyoming; and daughter, Joni Thomas Spidle of Nibley, Utah. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Russell Hardman and Dean Hardman; and sisters, Valerie Burnett and Lois Kidman Layne. She was a great example of a wife, mother and grandmother ? always a lady ? she will be greatly missed by her family and friends. We love you!
