AMALGA, UT--Kyle Milton Butler, 60, passed away peacefully July 11, 2007, at his home in Amalga, Utah, after struggling with diabetes and kidney failure. Kyle was born June 25, 1947, in Driggs, Idaho, to Milton and Betty Lou Butler. He grew up in picturesque Teton Valley, working closely with his father and grandfather on the family farm. He graduated from Teton High School, where he excelled in sports, music, and academics. He served a 2 ½ year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in France from 1966 ? 1969. He loved the French people and spoke fluent French throughout his life. He held numerous callings in the LDS church, serving as a scout leader, Elder?s quorum president, and was a high priest in his Amalga ward at the time of his passing. He enjoyed playing the piano and organ, and singing in the choir, wherever he attended services. He attended Ricks College, Brigham Young University, and most recently, Mesa Community College, where he excelled in the passion of his life -- music. From an early age, Kyle showed an interest and talent in musical instruments of all kinds. From the first rock and roll band during his teen years, he followed his dream of sharing music with others. Throughout his life he was a member of several dance and symphonic bands and orchestras. He owned a teen entertainment center in Provo, Utah, and made many friends on his life?s journey as he entertained, or was entertained by, others. Kyle loved people and made friends easily. Along with guitars, friends were the ornaments that decorated his life. He lived in Cave Creek, Arizona, for thirty years, operating Canopy Craft Awning Company. He loved the desert climate as much as he loved the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. His mind was sharp, and he never tired of sharing stories or jokes; and he reveled in the comic episodes told by those with whom he visited. He loved music of all types, and appreciated the efforts of those who shared their talents, no matter the level of expertise. During the past year of failing health, he received much joy from his dog-pal, Duke. Kyle is survived by his parents, Milton and Betty Lou Butler, his sister Louise David Letham, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Kyle?s life was one of joy, energy, and laughter. We will miss him very much, and try to pass on his legacy of love for the mystical magic of music. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, July 14, at the Amalga chapel, 6521 N. 2400 W., off Hwy. 218, with Bishop Lloyd Jenson conducting. A viewing will be held from 9 to 10 that morning prior to the funeral. Interment will be at the Driggs, Idaho cemetery that day, following a brief graveside service at 4 p.m. Online condolences may be extended at
