Thatcher, UT – Koa Lou C. Nelson returned home to her Heavenly Father and Elder Brother Jesus Christ, Friday, July 4, 2008 at the age of 73. Koa Lou rejoined the love of her life on the 52nd anniversary of their first date. She was born the second of three children to Earl C. and Ruby C. Christensen in Tremonton, UT. Her happiest early memories were of the horses she loved and helping her dad and brother on the family ranch in Faust Valley. She graduated from Bear River High School. She married her sweetheart, Dean Dale Nelson February 08, 1957. They moved her childhood home from Faust Valley to Thatcher where together they remodeled, built on and raised three children. As a family they enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. They truly enjoyed their lives together until Dean's death in 1980. Although his death left great emptiness, Koa Lou continued raising her family. They all enjoyed being together at the "The old home" for visits, picnics, and celebrations. She served in several positions in the LDS Church. After retiring from Morton Thiokol she spent her remaining years enjoying her home, yard, family, friends and the grandchildren she adored. She is survived by her sister, Marilyn C.
