Katherine Mary Buck

Tremonton-Katherine Mary Tibbitts Buck, 90, passed away on March 27, 2004 at the Bear River Valley Care Center in Tremonton, Utah.
Kathie was born on October 23, 1913 in Providence, Utah to Lorenzo E. and Clara Gessell Tibbitts. She was raised in the Rigby-Ririe area of Idaho and attended Rigby High School.
Kathie married Joseph P. Buck in Ogden, Utah on August 5, 1933. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple. During the war years, they lived in several states due to her husband's work with the government. They later settled in American Falls while Joseph worked at the Naval Ordinance Plant in Pocatello, Idaho. Joseph transferred to Thiokol and the family moved to Garland, Utah in 1963.
Kathie spent several years working as a waitress at Nel's Cafe' in Garland. She had a talent working with crafts and enjoyed creating decorative items for friends and family. She enjoyed crocheting and knitting afghans for family and grandchildren, and she taught her art to many.
In her aging years, Kathie worked in the extraction program of the LDS Church and was honored as the top extraction worker of the year.
She is survived by her seven children; Keith Sharon Buck, Nadine Leonard Goertzen, Mary Ann Robert Broberg, Brent J. Susan Buck, Lynn R Pat Buck, Eileen K Jim Buchanan, Joseph Paul Kathy Buck; two sisters, LuGene Jack Holt and Joycelyn Keith Moore and one brother, Allen M. Norma Tibbitts, 51 grand children, 90 great grandchildren, nine great, great grandchildren, and one daughter in-law Karen Hirshi Buck.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; two sons Sidney Boyd Buck and Randall Lyle Buck; her parents, six brothers and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, April 2, 2004 at the Garland 4th ward chapel, located at 175 South Main in Garland. Family and friends may call Thursday evening from 6-8 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home located at 111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, and from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 pm at the church prior to the funeral.
