Kali Nicole Jones graduated from this life to the next in the early morning hours of October 17, 2023, after a courageous 20-year battle with brain cancer.
Kali was born February 22, 1985, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania to Laryrn and Patricia Jones. From the beginning, Kali had a zest for life and brought along her big energy with it. She loved animals and was active in 4H, raising sheep, chickens, and horses. One of Kali’s happiest places to be was on the back of her horses Tonka and Rose riding through the mountains. She also adored her cats and dogs she was “mom” to, especially her dog Phoebe and her cat Lady Sif in recent years. Kali enjoyed writing and sharing her stories.
Kali graduated from Sky View High School in 2003. She then attended BYU – Idaho for a period of time before choosing to become a full-time missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She served in the California – San Jose Mission (Spanish-speaking). Kali devoted herself wholly to missionary work and loved the people she served and those she served with, making many treasured friendships. She had a deep faith in Jesus Christ and served in many capacities in the Church throughout her lifetime. She was a favorite Primary teacher because she was able to so easily connect with the kids.
After her return from her mission and after helping to care for her sister Carri and Mom, Kali wanted to continue to help others. She attended school to become a Medical Assistant. She loved being a Medical Assistant and was known for telling jokes to her patients to make them smile and feel more at ease. So many have shared stories about the genuine kindness, concern, and care she showed to each patient.
Kali adored her family, and never passed up an opportunity to make a memory, especially if it involved visiting Disneyland! She was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, and never let anyone doubt her love for them.
Even through the battles of the last several years, Kali always radiated positivity and joy. She was never one to complain – she’d simply lace up her boots and keep going. Her latest request was for people to share jokes with her – she especially loved a good pun. Kali’s strength, grace, and sense of humor will be sorely missed by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
Kali was met on the other side with open arms by her mom, Patty, her sister, Carri, and her Aunt Jean. Kali is survived by her dad, Lary Jones, her brother and sister-in-law Sean and Megan Jones, her brother Ty Jones, her nieces, Eleanor and Austyn Jones, and numerous loving extended family members and friends.
Per Kali’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date which will be announced on social media. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating in Kali’s memory to the Cache Humane Society, 4H, or Best Friends Animal Sanctuary. Condolences may be extended to the family online at
