Morgan - Judith Anne Dent was born to Howard and Genevieve Edwards on February 13, 1957. She was born at the Easton New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico. She was the second of two daughters. Her dad was in the Air Force and they spent much of her childhood travelling around and moving from one base to another. Her mother gave up factory work to be a stay-at-home mom when her daughters were born. Judy disliked all the travelling and moving around. Mostly because she had to leave her many friends behind each time they moved. She grew into a somewhat rebellious teenager, who quit school to get married at the young age of 16. She married Bruce Dent on September 18, 1973. They recently celebrated their 30th wedding anniversary. Judy later returned to school to get her G. E. D. after four or five years of marriage, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. Judy presented Bruce with four sons. Their first son, Reuben James was stillborn in January 1974. Her other sons were Jerod Judd, born November 29, 1974; Jesse Ray, born July 3, 1979, and Joshua Lee, born May 11, 1985. Her sons were her joy and she was enormously proud of all three of them! Her eldest son, Jerod Judd, married Kathryn Ann Larsen on August 1, 1997, giving her a daughter-in-law whom she dearly loved! Jerod and Katie, in turn, presented her with three grandchildren who were the delight of her heart--Damien Lee, born December 1, 1997, Kirsten Ann, born September 27, 1999, and Tristan Ray, born September 17, 2001. Judy was raised in the Baptist Church and was baptized at a young age. She later said she just went forward to see what all the hoo-hah was all about!" However, her search for spiritual enlightenment sent her to attending and studying with the Mennonite Church in Cheyenne, Wyoming in the early 1990's. She joined the Mennonite Church and was rebaptized in 1993. Throughout her almost two year battle with cancer her strong faith sustained her; and it was the greatest hope of her heart that those nearest and dearest to her would also come to know and love the Lord she loved so much! Judy had the gift of hospitality. She was always ready to welcome her many friends and family into her home. She loved to cook and try out new recipes. She also loved to sew and quilt. And she had the gift of service, and was always doing things for others! Judy lost her long battle with cancer on November 8, 2003. She was looking forward to seeing Jesus face to face at last, she said. It was special to her sister that she passed away on Saturday, the Lord's seventh-day Sabbath of the Bible. The Lord's day of rest in Genesis. It seems to her that the Lord was saying, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant! Enter ye now into the joy of my rest!" Judy was preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve Arlene Edwards, and by one son, Reuben James Dent. She is survived by her husband Bruce Dent of Morgan, Utah, and by her three sons and three grandchildren. Her eldest son and daughter-in-law Jerod and Katie Dent reside in Evanston, Wyoming. She is also survived by her father, Howard Edwards, of Ogden, Utah and her sister Connie Edwards of Evanston, Wyoming.
