Joyce Elna Scott Roundy

Joyce Elna Scott Roundy, 88, our much loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of January 13, 2003 in Logan, Utah. Joyce was born on December 26, 1914 in Millville, Utah to John W. E. Scott and Helma Elna Olsen Scott. She spent her youthful years in Millville and graduated from South Cache High School. She then attended the Budge Memorial Hospital Nursing Program. Joyce met and fell in love with Joseph M. Roundy, Jr. and they were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 19, 1935. She was a devoted wife and mother and her family was her life. Joe and the kids started boating and Joyce learned to go with them on many fishing trips, water skiing and camping outings. Joyce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Logan 4th and 16th wards. She served in the Primary and Relief Society most of her life. She had a great love for music and loved to play the piano and organ. Joyce was a very talented homemaker. She loved to sew and made many of her clothes and her children?s clothes and she later sewed for all of her grandchildren. She has made many quilts, afghans, embroidered and crocheted pillowcases. She had a great fondness for beautiful flowers and worked very hard in her yard to make it beautiful and pleasing. She and Joe were famous in their neighborhood for the rows and rows of dalihis, zinnias and marigolds they planted every year. Joyce was also a very accomplished cook. Joyce is survived by her children: K. Scott Judy Roundy of Farminghton, Utah; Carlos B. Roundy of Logan, Utah; Jon Lyle Sandy Roundy of Oakley, Idaho and Elna Sip of Hurricane, Utah; one brother, Therwin Fern Scott, 26 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe, brothers: Vaughn, Rulon, Ivan, Edsel and John Eldon Scott and sister, Wanda Olsen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2003 at the Logan 4th Ward chapel, 294 North 100 East, Logan, Utah. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah and on Saturday from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the 4th ward.
