Joyce Capener Cornwall

Riverside, UT ? Joyce Capener Cornwall, 77, passed away Monday, February 19, 2007. She was born February 26, 1929 in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Leland Smith and Helen Mar Lee Capener. She married C. M. ?Red? Cornwall May 31, 1947 in Logan, Utah. They were sealed November 22, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple.
Our dear companion, mother, and grandmother was a very kind, gentle, and loving person. She loved and served her husband and children. She cherished her grandchildren. She grew up and spent her life in Riverside loving the community and every person in it. She worked as a substitute school teacher after her children were raised teaching by love and example. She had a great testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. It was her greatest joy. She served in every capacity in Primary, Relief Society, Young Women and Cub Scouts as president or teacher, loving all she served. She served as a stake missionary with her companion in the Fielding, Utah Stake for six years. At the time of her death, she was serving in the Logan LDS Temple and the North Park Branch Care Center.
Surviving are her husband and the following sons and daughters: Gayle Burke Nielson, Diane Dennis Coburn, Nancy John Magoon, Gene Christine Cornwall, Susan Gordon Robbins, Toni Mitchel Rogers, James Cornwall, Rusty Teresa Cornwall and Dawn Christensen; also 30 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister: Richard Aaron and Robert Lee Capener, and Mar Lee Balka.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 24, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Belmont Second Ward Chapel, 16025 North 5200 West, Riverside with Bishop Neil Capener officiating. A viewing will be held Friday, February 23, 2007 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton and from 9:30-10:40 a.m. Saturday at the church. Interment at Riverside Cemetery.
