Our sweet and most precious father Joseph Glen Johnson, aka Santa Claus, Mr. J., Boney, Mixer Jo, Dad and Grandpa, passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his family with laughter and love August 27, 2011 in Hyde Park, Utah. He was born January 10, 1926 in Paradise, Utah to Joseph William Johnson and Claire James Johnson. He married his sweetheart Edna Mae Balls, aka Mrs. Claus, Winkie, Mom and Grandma, on June 10, 1947 in the Logan LDS Temple. To this blessed union came Peggy Lee Bunce, Hyde Park; Diane John Astle, Providence; Nancy Bob Bowers-Wilkinson, Logan; Rodney Johnson deceased; Kevin Betty Johnson, Hyde Park; Becky Scott Perkes, Smithfield; Kelly Nyla Johnson, Hyrum; Jamie Karen Johnson, Gilbert, Arizona; Cody Jill Johnson, Hyde Park; and Heidi Kelly Walker of Woods Cross. We are honored and priviledged to call them our parents. He is preceded in death by his beautiful wife, son Rodney, son-in-law Bill Bowers, his parents and step-father, Clarence Childs. He is survived by his humble, yet modest children listed above, brother Jerry Kay Johnson of North Ogden, 38 grandchildren and 56 great-grandchildren with five additional little ones getting acquainted with Great-Grandpa J. before their journey here to this earth. Carry on! Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 at the Hyde Park Stake Center, 535 East 200 South, Hyde Park, Utah. A viewing will be held Tuesday, August 30, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan, Utah and 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service at the Stake Center. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com We wish to extend a heart felt thanks to CNS Nursing Services and especially Alyson Egan and Angie Wheeler - for some moments in life there are no words. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations for those in need for that is what he would do to CNS Hospice at 383 West Vine Street, #300, Murray, Utah 84123.
