Joseph Arnold Hansen

Providence ? Joseph Arnold Hansen, 81, passed away on April 3, 2003 at the Logan Regional Hospital. Joseph was born July 19, 1921 to John Kristian and Lucille Stidham Hansen. At the age of one Joe and his family moved to Orange County California. They later moved to Los Angeles were Joseph graduated from George Washington High School. After completion of high school he worked at the North American Aviation. He served four years in the US Navy. Joe had a genuine love for his country. He married Nora Beth Kohler on October 18, 1943 in Logan, UT and their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in March of 1955. They made their home in Providence. Joe worked at Shoup Auto Body, Wheatley Motor Co., Charles W. Miller?s, Baugh Motor Co., and Thiokol. He then owned and operated Southwest Auto Parts and worked at Logan Manufacturing Co. for 13 years until his retirement in 1986. Joe was also a deputy marshal for Providence City. He was a member of the LDS Church and served in the Elder?s Quorum Presidency. Joe loved the outdoors and spent many hours on fun hunting and fishing trips with his sons, grandsons, and nephews. He was a very skilled handyman and there wasn?t anything he couldn?t fix. He is survived by his wife, Nora and sons: Jim Hansen, Tremonton; Scott Gwen Hansen, Providence; Fred Hansen, Duchesne. 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren ; a sister, Margaret Hansen and a brother-in-law, Ed Conroy both of California also survived him. Joe loved and adored his sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He loved spending time with them and supporting everything they did. Joe is preceded in death by his parents; sister: Alma Conroy; granddaughter: Javonna Hansen; and daughter-in-law: Joanne Hansen. Honoring Joe?s request, there will be no funeral or public viewing. Graveside services will be held on Monday, April 7, 2003, 2:00 p.m. at the Providence City Cemetery. Military rites will be by the Smithfield American Legion, Post 58.
