Jolene Conger Cutler

April 13, 1938 — November 4, 2009

Surrounded by her loving family, Jolene Conger Cutler returned home to her Father in Heaven, on November 4, 2009. Jolene was born in Tremonton, Utah on April 13, 1938 to Ernie Ray and Merle Agnes Anderson Conger. She married her high school sweetheart, and eternal companion, Sidney Doyle Cutler June 27, 1956 in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they loved, lifted and supported their children and grandchildren in every endeavor they participated in – from sporting events to dance recitals. "Grandma Jo" was the heart of her family. Jolene grew up in the Bear River Valley where she was crowned royalty in many local beauty pageants. She graduated from Bear River High School where she was a spirited cheerleader, a title and energy she maintained throughout her life. After high school, Jolene attended cosmetology school. For fifty-two years, she worked as a beautician, in her home, while raising four children. She deeply valued the friendships formed with "her ladies" in the beauty shop. Like her own mother, Jolene was an immaculate housekeeper and an exceptional cook. Jolene enjoyed sharing her talents in the kitchen with family and friends, candy making, shopping, taking care of her beautiful yard, and playing softball. Jolene loved spending time with her family. She worked hard to establish strong family traditions like "Easter on the Hill," Thanksgiving gatherings, Christmas Eve parties, and family barbeques. Her efforts resulted in a strong, unified family. Through Jolene's own testimony and love, her family learned the importance and value of eternal families. She was a good listener who offered sound counsel and guidance, regardless of the issue. She was a teacher in the subject of life, with a great sense of humor. Jolene led by example. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Over the years, she served in many callings in the Tremonton 1st Ward. Jolene is survived by her children: Bradley D. Nanette Cutler, Green River, Cathi Jo Mark Walker, Brigham City, Katie Dave Oliverson, Smithfield and Tyler S. Teri Cutler, Wellsville; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one brother, Dave Dot Conger, Tremonton; and two sisters: Connie Richardson, Murray and Teri David Anderson, Burley, ID.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and brother, Gary. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. in the Tremonton 1st Ward Church 166 North Tremont St., Tremonton, Utah, with Bishop Wayne C. Larsen presiding. Family and friends may call Sunday, November 8, 2009 from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and Monday from 9:15-10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Interment will be at the Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
