John David Rich

Tremonton, UT - John David Dave Rich, 74, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, died at home, Thursday, August 19, 2005 surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was born July 29, 1931 to Arthur Denton Rich and Sarah Marguerite Carter, in Garland, Utah. He has resided in Tremonton for the past 48 years. He married JoAnn Marjorie Brockman, August 23, 1957. Dave and JoAnn and their family were sealed for all time and eternity April 11, 1978 in the Ogden LDS Temple. Dave was a High Priest in the Tremonton Sixth LDS Ward Church.
After graduating from Bear River High School in 1949, Dave joined the Garland National Guard Reserve. He was called to active duty August 19, 1951 and served his country in the Korean War. Dave attended Utah State University. He was an avid member of the Big Blue Club, supporting the Aggie's football and basketball programs.
Dave worked along side his father at Dent Rich & Sons service station and later took over the family business. He and his wife were the owner and operators of the CrossRoads Family Restaurant and The Bears Den. He was well remembered for his smile and friendly greetings to both friends and strangers.
Dave was active in his community and loved serving his fellowman. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club, serving on the Board of Directors for two years and as President in 1974-1975. He also served as President of the JC Club.
In his spare time he enjoyed traveling with his wife, family and friends. Dave loved having the whole family together for holidays and special occasions. After his retirement, he continued to serve his community and spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; one son and two daughters, Bob Rich, Tremonton, Kathy Mike Lemon, Smithfield and Julie Rich, Logan; two grandchildren, Ryan and Holly Lemon and his brother Carter Elaine Rich, Tremonton. His parents and his baby brother precede him in death.
Special thanks to his "Angels of Mercy" Camille, Kelly, Carol, Sara, Mavis and all the IHC Hospice workers who cared for Dave in his final years of life.
Services will be held Tuesday, August 23 at 11:00 a.m. at the Tremonton Stake Center, 660 North 300 East, Tremonton. Family and friends may call Monday, August 22 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:00-10:30 a.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton. Interment at Tremonton Riverview Cemetery.
