John Hester, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday, Dec 28, 2015 surrounded by family and friends at Logan Regional Hospital. John was born in Stoke-On-Trent England and came to the United States when he was 16 years old. He Served a LDS mission in Hawaii and later attended Utah State University where he met the love of his life and future eternal companion Barbara Rae Humphries. They were married in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Dec. 5, 1969 and were later blessed with six children. He served Cache County and surrounding areas for many years and made many friends along the way. John had a love for the outdoors, camping, fishing, and especially spending time with his family. John adored his grandchildren immensely and was always bringing them little treats when he came to see them. He loved anything to do with John Wayne and he could tell you everything there was to know about him. He also enjoyed reading. John developed a great love for doing family genealogy and would spend hours researching with his friends. He is loved by many and will be missed. He is preceded in death by his wife Barbara Humphries Hester, his grandson Dietrich Crosby, as well as both his parents and grandparents.

John leaves behind his children Maylynn (Lee) Crosby; Michele (Mike) Sundstrom; Shaun (Lea) Hester; Tyrell (Amanda) Hester; Jennifer (Tanner) Morrell; Amanda (Shane) Hillyard as well as 19 grandchildren
We would like to invite all those that knew and loved him to join us at a Graveside Service to be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 2, 2015 at the Smithfield Utah Cemetery.
