Garland: Joe Martin, 65, died June 21, 2004, at his home in Garland, Utah. He was born September 29, 1938, in Roswell, New Mexico, the son of Curtis and Laura Neighbors Martin. He was raised and educated in Roswell and attended four years of Theology School in Missouri. He married JoAnn Loftin Nowell in 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He lived in southern California until 1992 when he moved to Garland. He was an Army veteran serving in the Korean War. He served as a Pentecostal minister for a short time, worked for 30 years in the oil refinery industry and retired in 2003 from the Bear River Canal Company as a ditch rider. He is survived by his wife JoAnn; his children, Ginger Shelton of Las Vegas, NV; Michael Martin, Anaheim, CA; three grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Friday, June 25, 2004, at 11:00 a.m. at the Garland Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, June 24, 2004 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.
