Jeneal Duce Anderson

May 31, 1920 — June 26, 2006

Jeneal Duce Anderson, 86, of Hyde Park, died Monday, June 26, 2006 at the Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 31, 1920 in Hyde Park, the fifth child of John and Ida Nyman Duce. She had three brothers and two sisters, and is the last remaining sibling in her family. She grew up in Hyde Park and after graduation from North Cache High School, two years later she married her eternal companion Ross N. Anderson on May 10, 1939 in the Logan LDS Temple, which resulted in a devoted companionship of over 50 years. Jeneal was a member of the Hyde Park 9th Ward at the time of her death. She worked on the family farm, and worked for Logan Knitting Mills for over 17 years, using her sewing talents to make fine clothing. She has served as a work director for the Relief Society for 15 years and ward librarian for many years. She was still serving for the Hyde Park Cemetery Board at the time of her death. She remembered a lot of people and families who lived or live in Hyde Park and other communities in Cache Valley. Her talents for all the beautiful finished products were visible to all who received her hand made gifts, from Easter chickens, afghans, ponchos, temple recommend holders, and relief society book covers. For many years, every Saturday morning, Jeneal would mix bread by hand and make soup or chili for her family and anyone who came to enjoy her hospitality and share in this special time with family and friends. She has been a delight for her family and will sorely be missed. She had many friends and was an active fan of her family?s participation in sports, music and other family activities. Jeneal was the favorite fan of her kids, great and grandchildren in whatever endeavor they chose. She loved people and has instilled beautiful relationships with whom ever she meets. Jeneal?s happy life was one of service and love to family and others. There was a statement we have heard her say ?I have never met a stranger, I talk to everyone I meet.? She was loved by many because of this philosophy and because she was so happy and outgoing and was concerned about all those she met. We will miss her happy smile and her warm hospitality and love. She is survived by her six children: Garth and Portia T. Anderson, Terrell and Joanne H. Anderson, Kent and Judy Anderson, Kerry and Kaylene Anderson, all of Hyde Park; Dennis and Cyndi Powers, Lyman, Wyoming; John Anderson, Gallatin Gateway, Montana; 25 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ross, her brothers: Delbert, Tom and Carl Duce; and two sisters: Ida Mae Zilles and Laverl Jones and two grandsons. There will be a viewing from 6 to 8 p.m Friday, June 30, 2006 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan and from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday , July 1, at the Hyde Park 9th Ward, 65 East Center, prior to services at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in the Hyde Park Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Legacy Health Care and especially to Peggy Wolfley for their tender and professional care.
