Jeffery David Ratliff

January 29, 1960 — June 3, 2015

Jeff Ratliff was a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a friend and the life of the party. The buzzer sounded on June 3rd, 2015. He was born in Bethesda, MD, and moved to Boulder, CO, when he was a baby. He graduated from University of Colorado – Boulder. He moved to California in his early twenties and had a Master’s Degree in International Business. One of his favorite jobs was as an Athletic Director of a University in California. He loved sports and loved to be around youth. He used to say “everybody likes to be young, but I was really good at it”. With a personality larger than life, he was able to find humor in any situation and made friends everywhere. He was truly a one of a kind person. His laughter was bright enough to light a dark room, and you couldn’t help but long to be around his personality.
Everyone who remembers Jeff is asked to celebrate his life in their own way; telling a funny story, laughing with friends, having a beer under the sun (or anywhere else), having a picnic with your family, playing sports with your kids, making fun of yourselves. He loved sports and all the simple things in life. He will be truly missed.
He left his wife, Patricia Ratliff, his sons Riley “Bobcat” Ratliff and Taelon D. Ratliff (from a previous marriage), his mother, Jane Ratliff, siblings and friends. “Jeff, we love you more than all the letters in all the words in all the pages in all the books in all the world”.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12th, at 11:00 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
