Jeddie Earl Bingham, 50, passed away at his home in Trenton, Monday, October 6, 2008.
He was born in Logan, Utah April 10, 1958 to Stanley Pratt and Georgia Ruth Chadwick Bingham. Jed grew up in Smithfield and graduated from Sky View High School. His entire life was spent in Cache Valley with his later years living in Trenton. He married Jackie Ackley and was later divorced. A few years later he married Andrea Petersen. They later divorced. He met his dear friend and "love of his life," Crystal Ratt, and claimed her children as his step-children. Jed enjoyed the time he spent with them immensely. Jed worked in construction throughout the western states, later starting JB Paving in Cache Valley. He took great pride in his work and had a strong work ethic. He loved spending time in the outdoors hunting and watching the wildlife. He loved animals, especially his little dog "Hound Dog". He also enjoyed gardening, bow hunting, and fishing. Jed loved his neighbors and friends. His family appreciates all of the care and concern shown to Jed over the past several years by these thoughtful and kind neighbors and friends. Jed was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He showed love and concern for all those around him. He received a Citizen Commendation Medal from the State of Utah Department of Public Safety Commissioner for recognition and appreciation of outstanding contribution in behalf of the citizens of the state of Utah. He received this commendation for saving a family who had wrecked in a canal near his home. He is survived by his parents of Preston, ID; siblings: Sheryl Fred Phillips, Fallon, NV; Sidney Bingham, Smithfield, UT; Janet Kirk Widmer, Geneva, ID; Elaine Scott Eppich, Alpine, UT; Lori Brett Howard, Smithfield, UT; Lynette Darren LaMay, Las Vegas, NV; Crystal's children: Tiffany, Shantelle, Troy, Ty and nephew, Trevor. Also he is survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by a brother, Michael Bingham and Crystal Ratt. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main, Smithfield and Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home in Logan prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Condolences may be extended to the family online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com .
