Jedd Rigby Van Kampen

March 8, 1939 — February 18, 2006

Jedd R. Van Kampen, 66, passed away in his home in Logan, Utah on February 18, 2006. Jedd was born on March 8, 1939 to Rudy and Afton Van Kampen in Odgen, Utah. Jedd is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Kenzie, Hailee, Jake and Jordan, his siblings Kent Van Kampen, Bruce Van Kampen, and Beth Maughan, Jedd was preceded in death by his father Rudy Van Kampen. Jedd graduated from Weber High School, attended both Weber State College and Brigham Young University. He served an LDS mission in California prior to marrying Nancy Olson in 1960 in the Idaho Falls Temple. Jedd was an entrepreneur throughout his life and had a passion for agriculture since his childhood. Along with his father Rudy, the two pursued this passion operating various cattle and horse operations together since Jedd was a child. Jedd continued with this family tradition on the family ranch in Logan, Utah raising Hereford cattle until just a year and a half ago. Jedd also expanded on his hobby of golf when he purchased and re-designed Thunder Canyon Golf Course in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho. In Jedd?s earlier years, he was involved in interior design as well as land development in Ogden, Utah, where Jedd developed Windsor Hills sub-division in South Ogden. He also used his talents in creating several warm homes, one in Layton where he raised his family and most recently in Logan where Nancy currently resides. Jedd?s grandchildren were the highlight of his life. Although he was ?Poppy? and not to be called Grandpa ? he was the best Grandfather there was. He loved to take the kids shopping each year for school and was always involved with whatever the most recent school project was. From clothes to vehicles and spending money in their pockets, he made sure the grandkids were always taken care of.
