Jeanette Jensen Hurd

Jeanette Jensen Hurd Garland: Jeanette Jensen Hurd, 36, returned to the arms of loved ones on January 16, 2003, at the Ogden Regional Medical Center after a three year valiant battle with inflammatory breast cancer. She was born September 29, 1966, in Tremonton, Utah, the daughter of Steven Lee and Susan Shaffer Jensen. She married her hero, the man she knew was the greatest guy in the world, Stephen D. Hurd on October 12, 1984, in the Logan LDS Temple. She was reared and educated in Garland, graduating from Bear River High School. Jeanette loved her life as a wife and mother. She found great enjoyment in riding the Harley with Steve, camping trips, attending the children?s sports and school activities, singing with Steve whether for fun or others enjoyment. She loved people and had a genuine concern for them. She was a wonderful friend. She was a member of the Garland 3rd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she was serving as First Counselor in the Relief Society. She served in various other callings but her influence for good was especially felt while teaching the 16 and 17 year olds in Sunday School. She is survived by her husband, Stephen; her children, Mandie Sue, Saje Steven, and Tyson Joe; parents, Steven Lee and Susan Jensen, Garland; mother-in-law, Darlene C. Potter, East Garland; brothers, Shawn L. Laura, Jason K., of Tremonton, and Jeremy Cassie of Garland; grandparents, Kenneth and Lucille Shaffer; East Garland; neices and nephews, Carson, Lexie, Jaycee and Caden. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Swen and Florence Jensen, fathers-in-law, Joseph J. Hurd and Bill Potter; a nephew Quay Jason Jensen. A special thanks to Dr. Vincent Hansen and staff along with the cancer treatment center at Ogden Regional for there sincere and personal care. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 20, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at the Garland Tabernacle, 140 West Factory. Friends may call Sunday, January 19th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Monday, January 20th from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton.
