Jayne Beutler Miller

May 6, 1924 — August 29, 2012

Our wonderful mother and grandmother, Jayne Beutler Miller, 88 passed away on August 29, 2012 at her home in Hyrum, Utah. Her loving family was gathered around her at the time of her passing.
She was born on May 6, 1924, in North Logan, Utah to Alfred and Rose Schwartz Beutler. She was the youngest of seven children. She had a happy childhood surrounded by her three brothers, three sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends. Many hours were spent working on the family farm putting up hay, feeding the animals, and milking the cows. She enjoyed helping her mother with household duties, such as baking bread, sewing, cleaning, and other tasks.
Jayne met her future husband, Max A. Miller, while serving as the Junior Class Vice President at South Cache High School, where Max was serving as the Junior Class President. They spent many hours planning events, which ultimately created a great friendship. On June 29, 1945, they were married in the Logan LDS Temple. After a yearlong stay in Grass Valley, California, while Max was serving in the military, they returned to their beloved Cache Valley, Utah and established their home in Hyrum. Five children blessed their marriage and time quickly passed with responsibilities associated with raising a family and work at Tri-Miller Packing Plant, a family business. Jayne considered her greatest accomplishment to be surviving the challenges that come with raising five children.
Jayne served in many church callings and magnified each one to the best of her ability. She served in all auxiliaries in the church; however music was a most cherished part of her life. She loved teaching music to Primary children and was a faithful member of the Singing Mothers and the ward choir, and served as the Hyrum 5th Ward Music Chorister for many years.
Jayne is survived by her five children: Terry Shari of Hyrum, Anita of Hyrum, Angela Casey Fisher of North Logan, Ned Cindy of Providence, don Lesa of North Ogden; 19 grandchildren and 33 great grandchildren and a sister, Edna Fisher of Englewood, Colorado. She was preceded in death by her husband, Max in October 2009, her parents, brothers Wallace, Alvin, and John, sisters Eva Schaub and Clara Beutler, and an infant granddaughter, Corilee Miller. Funeral services will be held at 12 noon, Tuesday, September 4th, in the Hyrum North Stake Center, 245 North 750 East in Hyrum. A viewing is scheduled for Monday, September 3rd from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, in Logan and prior to services on Tuesday from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. at the Hyrum North Stake Center. Interment will be in the Hyrum City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hyrum City Library in memory of Jayne Miller, P.O. Box B, Hyrum, Utah 84319.
