Jason Carl Dorius was born December 4, 1986 in Logan, Utah and passed away June 20, 2023 in Lewiston, Utah at his home. He was the second of four children born to Dave and Sherri Dorius. He grew up on a small farm in Lewiston, Utah and learned very quickly in life how to work hard. He had a talent for operating equipment and driving machinery. He was his dad's right hand man to help with shop repairs and lots of unpleasant farm chores!
As a child, he attended Lewiston Elementary School, North Cache Middle School and graduated in 2005 from Skyview High School in Smithfield, Utah. While attending high school, he attended Bridgerland Applied Technology Center for auto body and paint courses which helped him launch his career. He worked at various auto body and mechanic shops in the cache valley. As he worked his way up and perfected his skills, he was able to acquire his own large collection of auto body and paint tools. He was very detail-oriented and particular in his projects and took pride in his work.
From the time Jason was a young child, he pushed anything with a motor or wheels to the limit–bicycles, skateboards, dirt bikes, four-wheelers and jacked-up pickup trucks. But his life passion was snowmobiles. He adopted this zeal to use them not just on snow but sand, water and frequently in the air as well. On one occasion, this earned him a ride on a life flight chopper out of Bloomington Lake and on another occasion, he sank a snowmobile to the bottom of Newton Dam!
Jason was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and as a teenager, he earned an Eagle scout award. Under the direction of his many great scout leaders and Ed Robinson, he constructed new horseshoe pits at the Cornish Town Park.
In 2013, Jason married Denise Callahan but they later divorced.
Jason had a tender heart and always wanted to help his family and friends. He loved all of his family, including his niece and nephews and he really enjoyed the recent snowmobile outings with them. Jason also had a very soft place in his heart for his cats and considered them part of his family.
He is survived by his parents, Dave and Sherri Dorius, sister Melissa (Troy) Anderson, and a younger brother, Brett Dorius, as well one niece, Katelyn Anderson, and two nephews, Ryan and Luke Anderson. He is preceded in death by a younger brother, Christopher Dorius, and all of his grandparents. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends here but we know he is having a welcomed and sweet reunion with his brother, Chris, as well as many other family members in heaven. We love you, Jason!
