LOGAN ? Jason Robert Beed joined his Father in Heaven on July 1, 2002. Jason spent only 19 short years with us, but blessed all who knew him with his warmth and eternal smile. He lived more in his 19 years than many of us do in a long lifetime. He left us doing something he loved, spending a summer afternoon with close friends in the outdoors he so enjoyed. Jason?s greatest passion was baseball. He was a 2 year letterman at Logan High, where he was a 2001 graduate. He was playing with the Hyrum Hornets and preparing to attend Blue Mountain Junior College in Pendleton, Oregon to continue playing the game he loved. Jason loved teaching his baseball skills to local boys. He coached several little league teams and spent countless hours playing catch and pitching to his younger brother. Jason was born Feb. 6, 1983 in Norfolk, Nebraska and moved to Logan in 1990 with his family. He is survived by his parents, Ken and Alison Beed; his brother, Zachary; Grandmothers: Betty Papstein, and Gayle Beed and numerous Aunts, Uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by both of his grandfathers, Marvin Papstein and Robert Beed. Jason will be missed and loved eternally by all who knew him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, July 6, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. in the Nelson Funeral Home Chapel, 162 East 400 North, Logan, with Pastor Scott Holder officiating. Friends may call Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Memorial services will be held in Norfolk, Nebraska at 10:30 a.m on Wednesday, July 10 at the Howser-Fillmore Mortuary, 901 North 13th Street with Pastor James Woelmer officiating.
