Janet Smith Bailey

Janet Smith Bailey, 57, passed away peacefully on July 22, 2002 in Ogden, Utah. She was born February 5, 1945 in Logan to Assell Chugg Smith and Hazel Naylor Smith. She has been a lifelong resident of Cache Valley, attending and graduating from the Cache County schools. Janet loved animals. She was always taking in and caring for stray animals and had a natural talent for dog grooming. She especially loved her children and delighted in her precious grandchildren. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She is survived by her mother, Hazel, Logan; and her two children: Bonnie Earl Roberts, College Ward; Wade Janis Bailey, Preston and three grandchildren: JaCeelyn and Shantel Golding, College Ward and Colby Archibald, Preston. She is also survived by a sister, Ronda Terry Cronquist, Smithfield; and two brothers, Clyde Patty Smith, Lewiston; and Clair Jenny Smith, Tempe, Arizona; her step-mother: Afton Smith, Smithfield; two step-sisters: Dixie Hodges, Smithfield; Jeanie Rich Taylor, Layton; and a step-brother: Mike Janice Mikkelsen, Smithfield. She was preceded in death by her father, Assell Smith and a sister-in-law, Darlene Smith. Janet?s family would like to extend a special thank you and express their heartfelt gratitude to the members of the North Logan 7th Ward and especially Bishop Nolan MacKay, for the kindness and concern shown to their beloved daughter, mother and grandmother over the years. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, July 26, 2002 at the North Logan 7th Ward Chapel, 730 East 2000 North. Friends and family may call on Thursday evening, July 25, 2002 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and on Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery. Condolences to the family may be extended online at www.nelsonfuneralhome.com . Mom, you are dearly loved and will be greatly missed. You have truly been a pillar of strength and a great example of courage and love.
