Jane Darmyne Langenheim Wax chose to join her beloved Father in Heaven, Savior, husband Carroll, mother Elsa Darmstaetter, father Hay, and grand-daughter Emily Sanders age 3, and many other friends and family on November 12, due to complications from a stroke. Jane was born March 13, 1917 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, moved to Los Angeles in 1925 where she resided until March 2005 when she moved to Utah.
She married Carroll Foster Wax in 1937. She had been lead singer with his renowned Carroll Wax Orchestra. Rather than sign a contract with NBC-radio, she chose to perform with the world tour of Moral Re-Armament MRA. Jane was a vocal lead in a musical "The Vanishing Island" that was presented to audiences numbering in the millions, along with other productions, from 1940-1964. MRA proposed that all social ills could be cured if individuals would listen to the voice of God within themselves. When that voice is heard, clarify its origin against four absolutes, based on the Lord?s Beatitudes, of Honesty, Purity, Unselfishness, and Love. The group also taught to replace hatred with Love and Forgiveness. In 1971 Jane and Carroll embraced the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints LDS. Though childless, they adopted scores of young people, guiding each one to hear God?s clear call for their lives. Notable among them were two: Scott Sanders whom the Waxes met in 1967 and Yvonne Maddox in 1978. Jane is cherished by them, their children, grandchildren, and countless others whose lives she and Carroll touched. The Wax marriage was sealed for time and all eternity in the Los Angeles LDS Temple in 1972. A generous philanthropist, Jane ardently supported the Republican Party and conservative principals. She held many callings for the LDS Church. For five years she was Adult over 31 years of age Activities leader in Southern California the success of which has yet to meet its equal. Jane loved family history. Her frequent attendance to the temple had an energizing effect on her. After Carroll?s passing in 1986, Jane continued Carroll Wax Productions providing entertainment in major U.S. cities and hiring such notables as Jerry Seinfeld, Shari Lewis, the Smothers Brothers, Linda Eder, Frank Travelena, Danny Gans, and many others. She retired her business at the age of 87 in 2005.
When Jane relocated to Utah she continued to spread her legacy of love for God to the fortunate ones who came into her presence and began chronicling her story, "A Life In Miracles." She is survived by her brothers Jim Susi of La Crescenta, California, John Kathleen of Spokane, nephews Rick Ann of Logan, Utah, Bob Frances Painter of Buena Vista, California, seven other nieces and nephews, two adopted children: Scott Dana Sanders of Auburn, California, Yvonne Lee Maddox Roderick of North Logan, Utah, ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Many heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Logan Nursing and Rehabilitation and Logan Regional Hospital and many loving friends all over the world.
