James Samuel Holloway

James Samuel Holloway, 75, passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 surrounded by loved ones. He was born May 2, 1933 in Rawlins, Wyoming to Exie and Mildred Mortgareidge Holloway on the family ranch. He attended the local schools and completed his high school education after joining the military. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Jaunice Elnora Johnson in Rawlins on October 12, 1957 and celebrated 51 years of happiness together. While in the military, they had the opportunity to travel to many countries and particularly enjoyed the two years they spent in Italy. Upon completing his military service, they returned to Utah to continue with farming and ranching, which was his true passion. Over the years Jim has enjoyed building, tinkering, fishing and hunting. He especially loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Jaunice; children: Cindy White, Tennessee; Jayme Chu, West Jordan; Jodi Rob Seaver, West Point; Jackie Phillip Sereika, West Haven; Jana Holloway, Layton; and Jeri Holloway, Garden City; 11 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. He is also survived by a sister, Virginia Bashford, Cheyenne, WY. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Carl Holloway. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, November 21, 2008 at the Garden City 1st Ward Chapel, 65 South Bear Lake Boulevard, Garden City, Utah. Friends and family may call at the church from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Garden City Cemetery.
