With her loving husband and members of her family at her bedside, Jacquelyn Hansen Hillyard passed away Wednesday, February 21 at home in Smithfield, Utah from cancer. She was born the eldest daughter of Harold Gamet Hansen and Evelyn Petersen Hansen on May 21, 1927 in Logan, Utah. She grew up on the family farm in Amalga, Utah and attended Smithfield schools. She graduated from North Cache High in 1945. She married Glen William Hillyard on February 27, 1946, and they made their home in Smithfield. She loved her children and grandchildren and always supported them in their activities. She was an avid Utah Jazz fan. ?Stockton to Malone?. Jackie was always concerned about others and was a great listener. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a unique way of uplifting others. She worked as a reading aide in the Cache County School System for many years, forming relationships with both children and co-workers that have been precious to her. She is survived by her husband Glen, all of her children; Dixie Lee Skabelund Lee of Centerville, Utah, Glen John Hillyard Janet Willmore of Smithfield, Sheri Andersen Murray J. Glenn of Smithfield, Leisa Christensen Dale K. of Smithfield, Angela Heaps Michael B. of Smithfield, 17 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, one foster grandchild, 23 great grandchildren, and 5 step-great grandchildren, and 3 foster grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, MarJean Rindlisbacher Petersen Larry, Soda Springs, ID; Rhonda Gleed Virgil, Tooele, UT; DeMar Hansen Marva Shaffer, Logan, UT; Kenneth G. Hansen Twilla Jessop, Smithfield, UT; Kaye Robertson Ray, Florissant, Missouri; and sisters-in-law MarJean Anderson Smith, Newton, and Joanne Hansen, Providence. She was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Lennis Hansen, a son-in-law Brian J. Andersen, and a grandson Courtney DeLoy Christensen. A viewing will be held from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 25 at Nelson Funeral Home, 85 South Main in Smithfield and from 9:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, February 26 at the 3rd/12th Ward Chapel, 179 North 100 East, Smithfield prior to the funeral services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery.
