Paradise—Jacqueline Elida Hanson Seamons, 78, of Paradise passed away peacefully on January 23, 2009, at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden from injuries sustained in a fall. She was born May 31, 1930 in Logan to Oliver Moroni and Ethel Batkin Hanson. She spent her early years in Preston where she made many lifelong friends. She graduated from Preston High School in 1948. As her mother died when Jackie was only 15 years old, special tribute should be paid to her dear father. One could only imagine the sweet reunion she now enjoys with her mother. She married the love of her life, Gordon Jepsen Seamons, on April 14, 1956 in Elko, Nevada. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. Together they raised a wonderful family of six children. Their early married years were spent in the Salt Lake Valley and later they moved to Paradise where they have resided ever since. Jackie's life was one of service. In recent years she worked tirelessly for the LDS Church humanitarian service and made a special effort to take care of all the widows in her neighborhood. She had a particular love for children and many young friends and neighbors affectionately call her "grandma." She taught her children to be selfless and instilled the core values of charity and service in them. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Jackie served faithfully in many callings including, Relief Society President, Temple Worker, Primary Teacher, Stake Dance Director, and Single Adults Coordinator. Her interests included sewing, cooking, family history, and bargain hunting. She and Gordon enjoyed thirteen years of warm winters in Yuma, Arizona where she loved to go to Mexico for flea markets. Above all else, she was a loyal wife and a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband Gordon, of Paradise; her children, Jeri Skip Mair, Paradise, Larry Noël Seamons, Nibley, Kathy Marvin Bunderson, Brigham City, Arlene "Punkie" Richard Platts, McCammon, ID, ChristyAnne Kenny Carling, Hyrum, Wes Seamons, Hyrum; 24 grandchildren; 49 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; and one brother, O.
