Jack D. Yoder left this world for a far better place on Monday, March 13, 2006. Jack was born on January 28, 1917 in Tremonton, Utah, and was raised by mother, Ara Frazier Miller and step father, John Miller. Jack graduated from Bear River High School and then served his country during WWII in the United States Navy for eight years and was honorably discharged as Seaman First Class/Gunners Mate Third Class. He then worked at the Ogden Defense Depot as a forklift operator. Jack lived in Garland, Ogden, Young Ward, Newton and Logan. He met and soon married the love of his life, Elna LeAnn Goodsell on January 1, 1975 in Elko, Nevada. Jack had a love for horses, rodeo and farming. He served as a volunteer at Sunshine Terrace for 12 years befriending everyone he had the opportunity to meet. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, LeAnn Yoder of Logan; Ray K. and Rosalee Yoder; Dennis C. and Annette Yoder; Jacqueline and Tom Magee; Paul and Dixie Yoder and Shannon Hale. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ara and John Miller; and brothers, Dean Yoder and Bill Miller. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 16, 2006 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan at 12:00 Noon. A viewing will be held Thursday morning from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. prior to services. He will be buried in the Newton Cemetery.
