IvaLoo Petersen Yeates

February 29, 1932 — April 27, 2012

On Friday, April 27, 2012 our beautiful mother passed away. She was born February 29, 1932, the daughter of Dewey V. Petersen and Lillian Skanchy Petersen, in Logan, Utah. Ivaloo grew up in Logan attending Logan City Schools and graduating from Logan High School in 1950. In high School she was active in Sponsors, Debate – winning the State Championship and was a Student Body Officer.
In 1952 Ivaloo married her eternal companion, Owen Yeates, in the Logan LDS Temple. He passed away February 24, 2011. In June of 1953 she graduated, with Owen, from Utah State University with a degree in English.
During her life, she and Owen lived in Logan, Fort Lee, VA, California, and North Logan.
Ivaloo was a talented pianist and an avid reader. She held many church callings in the wards where she resided.
Ivaloo was preceded in death by her husband, Owen, her parents, a brother Ralph and sisters, Lorraine Skabelund and Kaye Petersen. She is survived by her seven children, Paula Jeff Jurinak, Brisbane, Australia; Laurie Robert Baldwin, Wellsville, Utah; Cory Darla Yeates, Logan, Utah; Angela Gary Cunningham, North Logan, Utah; Tony Terri Yeates, Moorepark, CA; Spence Annette Yeates, South Jordan and Sam Deb Yeates, Naperville, IL. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at noon in the Logan City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, IvaLoo requested that donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
