Irene Jane Holland Adams

Star Valley, WY--Irene Jane Holland Adams passed away Saturday, December 8, 2007 at the Star Valley Care Center in Afton, Wyoming. Irene was born April 19, 1917 in the old Holland home in Brigham City, Utah. Her parents were Joseph Burgess Holland and Eliza Pearl George Holland. She was reared down the Iowa String known as the Evans Branch and educated in Tremonton. She married Dwight Wayne Nicholas in the Salt Lake Temple, August 25, 1938. They were blessed with a daughter Tamara Irene Nicholas March 20, 1942. Wayne and Irene were later divorced May 23, 1943. Irene married John Crawford Adams, March 14, 1944 in Brigham City, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Washington Temple at Kesington, Maryland the 28th of August 1979. Irene and John lived in Middletown, Ohio. They lived in the mission field where Irene was a very active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as Sunday School teacher, Jr. Sunday School chorister, visiting teacher, and worked in the Relief Society for many, many years. Her Church was her life. She loved teaching the little kids and being able to serve others. After the passing of her husband, John, June 9, 1989, she moved back to Cokeville, WY where she lived with her daughter Tamara. She later moved to the Williamsburg Retirement Inn in Logan, Utah and resided there until her health became an issue. She then moved to the Care Center in Afton, WY on September 26th, 2007 where she graciously passed away and endured to the end. She is survived by her daughter, Tamara Irene Eddie Dayton, Cokeville, WY; and three grandchildren, granddaughter, Jennie Lyn Cary Robinson and their children Jake, Codi, Carissa, Camiah, and Celsie, Harrisville, UT; granddaughter, Mindy Jo Steve Muth, and their children Teagan Jo and Spencer, Turnerville, WY, and Nicholas Eddie Dayton, Cokeville, WY. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, LeRoy Holland and Boyd Holland; and sister Erma Anderson. Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 14, 2007, at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 North 100 East, Tremonton, Utah. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Burial will be in the Brigham City Cemetery. .
