Jim was raised in Ransom, IL and graduated high school in Dwight, IL. He joined the army in 1944 at the age of 18, and served his country for 24 years, before being honorably discharged in 1968. During his military career, he served in three wars, World War II, Korea, and Vietnam; and earned a Purple Heart and a Presidential Unit Citation. Jim retired to Cape Cod, MA where he worked at the water department. He moved to Logan, UT in 1973 and worked for Taylor Rental, then at Cache Valley Dairy as quality control supervisor. He married Susan Hollingsworth on Nov. 30, 1984 in Elko, NV and they lived in Smithfield, UT. They later moved to Mesa, AZ, where Jim worked for Avis car rental for 21 years. Jim and Susan were sealed in the Mesa Temple on Nov. 28, 1998, and later served in the temple for 2 ½ years. They returned to Logan, UT in 2007. Jim worked at E.A. Millers until he retired in 2009. Jim enjoyed playing golf, camping, fishing, and being outdoors. He was an animal lover, and was never without pets. But he loved to spend time with his wife and family more than anything. He is survived by a stepson, Michael Harrington MA, and a son, Carl Baldwin Arlington, TX from a previous marriage. He is also survived by his wife, Susan, and three children, Angela Mickey Bacon of River Heights, UT, Travis Gregory Bret Farris of Denver, CO, and Kayla Gregory Chad Andrus of Preston, ID. Trail View Cir. 1690 West, just off of 600 S., and funeral services will be held at 12pm, followed by a 21 gun salute.
