Inez Ek Moon

Smithfield ? Inez Ek Moon died Tuesday, July 27, 2004. She was 85 years young. Inez was born March 5, 1919 in Magna, Utah to Theodore and Emily Ek. She married Dean O. Moon in the Salt Lake Temple on March 5, 1940. They lived in Hunter, Utah for years, then moved to Smithfield, Utah. She never had any children of her own, but was a wonderful aunt to many nieces and nephews. Inez worked in the Primary, Relief Society and Boy Scout Programs in the LDS Church. She was an avid Jazz basketball fan and loved watching baseball. Inez has loved all her travels this last 10 years. She also loved going to the Logan Senior Citizens Center with all her many friends and consider them her second family. She is survived by her sister Emma Breeze, California; brother, Clayton Dee Ek, Murray, Utah; niece, VaNae Don Husband, Magna; nephews, Marlen Ek, West Jordan; Frank Alyce Moon, Corrine; Dell Mary Johnson, Avon; Sid Jackie Johnson, Ogden; Sister-in-laws: Mary Lu Downs, Swan Lake, Idaho; Bonnie Moon, Oregon. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dean Moon; two brothers: Eugene Ek, Magna; Mariun JoAnn Ek, Magna; two brother-in-laws: DeWane Downs, Swan Lake, Idaho; LaVar Moon, Oregon; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 2, 2004 at the Smithfield North Stake Center, 150 West 400 North. Friends and family may call at the church from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. prior to services. Interment will be in the Smithfield City Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Nelson Funeral Home.
