Ileene Joyce Kidman Larsen A heavenly angel returned home on November 18, 2013. Ileene was born July 23, 1921 to Arthur and Marva Kidman in Logan, Utah. She married John M. Larsen on March 1st, 1940, in the Logan Temple and spent the rest of her life in Newton. They had seven children: Pat Ken Dagley, Marilyn Curtis Dagley, Shauna Mike Hancock, Murray Pam Larsen, Georgia Ron Stewart, Douglas Michelle Larsen, Lawrence K. Larsen. She has 19 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews. Her life was a prime example of service and Christ-like love. Ileene worked hard all of her life. She would work out in the fields and then would come in and make wonderful meals while everyone else rested. She was the one in the background helping everyone else succeed while shying away from praise or credit. Mom had many talents including painting, singing harmony, cooking and making the best fudge in the world. Everyone looked forward to Grandma Lena's Christmas fudge. Sadly, she retired making the labor intensive treat when she was 90. Mom's greatest love was her family. She raised her children and was extremely influential in raising her grandchildren and her great grandchildren who adored her. She welcomed everyone into her home, providing treats, comfort and friendship. Grandma Lena will be greatly missed, but her legacy of love, service and family will always be remembered. She was active in the LDS church and was a temple officiator for
14 years. She lived her testimony of the gospel and often told us of how much The Lord had blessed her. She was the last surviving member of her and her husband's families. She was preceded in death by her husband John, infant son Lawrence, son Douglas, son-in-Iaws: Ken Dagley and Curtis Dagley and great- grandson Cody Dagley. Her memory will be cherished by her many friends and family who will love and remember her until we are together again. Funeral services will be held Saturday November 23, at 2:00 pm in the Newton Ward Chapel. There will be a viewing at the church on Saturday from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Interment will be at the Newton cemetery under the direction of Nelson funeral home.
