Hyrum Austin Marble

December 9, 1911 — November 19, 2004

Hyrum Austin Marble, 92, passed away on Friday, November 19, 2004, in Provo, Utah of natural causes. Hy was born December 9, 1911 to Silas Andrew Marble and Mary Evaline Burbank in Deweyville, Utah. He married Phyllis Haws in the Salt Lake Temple February 14, 1935. He attended school in Deweyville and graduated from Bear River High School in 1930. He attended two years at Utah State Agricultural College. He was a hard-working life-long farmer, first as a dry farmer in Pocatello Valley and later as a dairy farmer with a small herd of registered Jersey cows. He served as the president of the Utah Jersey Cattle Club.
He was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings including: a bishopric, high council, several stake missions, and a mission with his wife among the Navajo Indians. He worked very hard for many years in family history.
Hy is survived by his wife Phyllis, sons Haws, Gail, and Bruce, 14 grandchildren, and 24 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2004, Tremonton 5th Ward located at 300 South Tremont St. at 12:00 noon. A public viewing will be held at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home Friday, November 26, 2004 located at 111 North 100 East in Tremonton from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday from 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral.
Interment will be at the Garland Cemetery.
