Hazel Marie Larkin Natali, 88, passed away October 5, 2014, Logan Utah. She was the daughter of Joseph Elijah Larkin and Anna Louise Mueller of Smithfield, Utah. Her parents, husband of 35 years, Reno Virgil Natali, and her son, Dr. Carl Glen Natali, preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Catherine Ann Christensen Vance, son Ronald Bruce Natali Marlyne and daughter-in-law Debra J. Sattree Natali. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Hazel was born February 7, 1926, San Francisco, California. At age 3 her family moved to Smithfield, Utah where she attended various schools finally graduating from North Cache High Scholl in 1944 as the Valedictorian of her graduating class. After graduation she moved Seattle, WA to help in the war effort working for Boeing as a Rosie the Riveter and then moved up to running parts for the engineers. After the war she came back to Smithfield with the intention of going to Utah State Agricultural College majoring in engineering. Plans changed and Hazel moved to San Francisco, California where she received a full scholarship to Healds College of Engineering and Architecture. While attending Healds College she met and Married Reno Natali, April 4, 1948, St. Helena, California. They chose to stay in California and raise their family settling in Fremont, California. She was a schoolteacher in California teaching 7th and 8th grade math for 22 years retiring in 1988. In 1989 she decided to move to Sylacauga, Alabama to be closer to her youngest son Dr. Carl Natali. After living in Alabama for 18 years she decided to return to Utah settling in Richmond where she has lived since 2007 and to be closer to Larkin relatives. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at the Richmond Stake Center, 135 West Main Street, at 12 noon with a viewing prior from 10:30-11:30.
