Hazel Lavelle Behrmann

Santa Clarita, Calif. Hazel LaVelle Parks Behrmann 90, died Aug 23 2008 of natural causes in her daughters home. She was born May 8, 1918 in Blackburn, Oklahoma, a daughter of Charles Andrew & Edna Viola Thomas Parks. She married Lawrence Behrmann Dec. 28 1936 in Aztec, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Her schooling was in Durango, Colo & Farmington, New Mexico. She graduated from Durango High School. She completed one semester of college in Oklahoma. LaVelle was a convert to the L.D.S. when she was 40 yrs old. She held many positions in the church and always performed them to perfection. Her mind was very keen and had an interest in many things, especially nature. She had many talents; sewing, a master gardener, decorating her home, flower arranging, crafts, artist, violinist and many others. Lawrence and LaVelle lived in the Deweyville area for 15 years until she moved with her daughter to Calif. Surviving are one son and two daughters and spouses; Larry & Barbara Behrmann of Houston, Texas; Cheryl & Jerry Acord of British Columbia, Canada and Sandy & Richard Maxson of Santa Clarita, Calif. She leaves 15 grandchildren and 41 great grand children and one sister and three brothers; Leona Briggs of Columbus, Nebraska, Bob Parks of Glendale, Oregon, Jimmy Parks of Redway, Calif & Doug Parks of Grayslake, Ill. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 30 at 11 AM at the Deweyville Ward Chapel; 10750 N. Hwy 69 with Bishop Frank Walker officiating. Friends and family may call on Sat at the church from 10 to 10:45 AM for viewing. Interment in the Deweyville Cemetery.
