Beaverton, Oregon – Dale Munk, 91, passed away June 2, 2009 in Beaverton, Oregon. He was born in Benson, Utah on August 6, 1917 to Eva & Harvey Munk. His sisters, LoRee Downs, Aileen Preece and Lucinda Hansen live in Cache Valley. He was married to Evelyn Cash, who passed away in 2002. Dale is survived by his three daughters: Rhonda Pikelny, Kathleen Westhora and Joy Abbey; 11 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and 3 step-grandchildren. Dale spent his early years in Cache Valley and graduated from Utah State Agricultural College. He served in the Navy during WWII. He worked for the Soil Conservation Service for 32 years with his career taking him to Idaho, Alaska, Washington, D.C., Oregon and California. After retiring, he and Evelyn spent 2 years in Lesotho, Africa, working on an agricultural project. He was a Scoutmaster in Jerome, Idaho for many years, loved to travel and enjoyed growing beautiful gardens and flowers. He served as a Bishop and High Councilor in Eugene, Oregon. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. June 11, 2009 at Nelson Funeral Home, 162 East 400 North, Logan. Friends and family may call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to services.
